Fagus Sylvatica purpurea - Copper Beech
Beech trees are popular trees throughout the country in both parks and gardens, as trees and as hedging. Copper Beech trees prefer full sun and any reasonable garden soil will do, although they don't like to be planted where it's really heavy clay soil. If you are pruning, it's important to remove anything that's dead, diseased or damaged first and then you can prune the branches after this. You can lightly trim both the trees and hedges in July.
